who is she?
For over five decades, Dixie has been weaving warmth and color into the world through her crochet hooks. Starting at the age of 14, she’s spent 55 years turning yarn into cozy masterpieces. But there’s a lot more to Dixie than just crochet. She’s also had a remarkable career as a travel nurse, caring for patients in drug rehabilitation and cancer care across the country. Her years of nurturing others have given her both a compassionate heart and a strong, lively voice. As a mom of six, Dixie’s never been afraid to speak her mind, and she credits her kids for that bold spirit!
At the core, Dixie is deeply rooted in her faith and loves spending time with her church community, as well as diving into a good book whenever she can. Altogether, she’s a vibrant, opinionated, and caring soul, bringing a mix of warmth, faith, and a whole lot of life experience to everything she does.

Welcome to IHeartDixie.com, where a mountain of yarn and a whole lot of love come together! For the past two years, Dixie has been crocheting beanies, hats, scarves, and afghans—so many, in fact, that her kids have lovingly told her she can’t leave this world until she finds them all a good home! Of course, that hasn’t stopped her from buying more yarn and creating even more cozy treasures.
Now that she’s retired, Dixie thought, why not share the warmth (and clear out a little space) by offering these handmade goodies to others? Every piece you find here has a story and a lot of heart behind it. So feel free to wrap yourself in something special, knowing it’s made with care, a little humor, and plenty of Dixie’s unstoppable creativity.
